In preparation for the exhibition Standing Reserve at the Cecile R. Hunt Gallery, much time - too much time - has been spent in the studio. Here are few in progress shots of the new work to be installed.
I have an MFA in studio art and will complete my Master of Urban Planning degree in 2016. In 2015, I conducted research into waste management in Mumbai, India through a joint workshop hosted by C-USE at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay and presented findings at the Amsterdam-Mumbai Symposium on Sustainable Urban Development: Practices, Problems and Prospects, and I worked in Sastamala, Finland on rural development projects through the EU Leader program. I am currently a student researcher on a collaborative irrigation project in Ecuador and I am an intern for the Institute for Sustainability, Energy and Environment in Champaign, IL. I plan to continue my multiple roles as artist, educator and planning and development researcher into the future.
